Normandy
The existing architecture left the front-elevation dull and without life.
Adding colourful woodworks bring warmth and an inviting elegance. The French cornerstones bring a pleasant touch to this facade.
The back was lifeless and lacked visual balance. Woodworks, doors and windows surrounds, plus the addition of a raised panel between the two upper floor windows add the much-needed equilibrium and a striking look.

Country
A home that seemed to have it all… I suggested grouping the two right ground floor windows in a bay window-style covered with a tin roof that would match the existing porch. The attic window over the garage doors needed some care. So did the top of the tower where a dentil trim made the whole difference.

Restoration
The woodwork around this entrance door was built on a curved masonry wall.
It was rotten to the point that pieces were falling off. Replicating this detail on a curved wall was not a simple task. It was possible to do so by combining different polymer mouldings that did flex within this sharp radius.

Mansard remodeling
This Canadian had undergone several modifications over the years. It became a true headache for the owners when the mansard roof was modified in a surprising way.
More than ten (10) years in consultation and research were needed before they contacted me
I proposed a transformation using polymer architectural elements for their average budget. An acrylic type “EIFS” masonry was used to cover the old brick and aluminium siding. It was then possible to add the architectural details. The portico design was made to match the front door detail.

Renovation - Facade
This home was planned for a comfortable interior.
Looking at the exterior afterwards, the owners were puzzled how to balance things up.
This solution was simple to achieve by joining together the two garage doors. An oversized Sunburst Pediment over the door head did the trick. The owner and his father in-law installed these decorative elements by themselves over the weekend.

Architectural Enhancement
The new owner was not pleased with the exterior of his home.
This residence had a poor looking architectural front-elevation.
A wood panel skirt required frequent maintenance and obviously this detail was found annoying.
Corrections were suggested to raise the canopy and add a matching peak pediment over the garage door. Then it was possible to dress up the front entrance and canopy. Doors and windows were uplifted and a dentil block cornice was added around the perimeter of the house.

Georgian - Pavilion
Of European inspiration, this pavilion is a delightful sight in the gardens of this Laurentian Villa. Fancy dentil blocks and scamozzi capitals at the top of these decorative columns are bringing this replica very close to the original concept.

Country - Dormer
Typical example of a poor dormer window. The masonry covering was damaged by the elements within a couple years after construction was completed.
The polymer window pilasters had been installed upside-down.
Polymer panels were used to replace the wall covering and “scallop” fish-scale shingles fill the dormer gable. This window head was retained and a sill was added underneath. The two side pilasters were flipped over.

Manor - Stone
Cornice: Polymer panels and dentil blocs that are providing a ventilation space of 3” (7,62cm) along the edge of the roofline.
Soffits of the Romeo and Juliet type balconies were covered with half-round sunbursts; steel angles on each side were covered with hollow polymer consoles. This work was carried on in close co-operation with the owner and the architect.
